What are the benefits of the Ice FUE hair transplant technique?

Increases the success rate

The subtle difference between Ice FUE and FUE technique makes a great contribution to the success rate of the hair transplant operation. Preserving the hair grafts in a cool environment improves the viability of grafts. This leads to an increase in the success of transplanted hair follicles.

Decreases the shock loss

Shock loss commonly occurs after hair transplant operations and it’s nothing to be worried about. It is caused by a high number of hair follicles going into the resting phase of the hair growth cycle because of the trauma effect of the transplant process. Keeping hair grafts in a cool environment is proven to decrease the effect of shock loss and provide better results after the frozen FUE hair transplant operation.

What is the technical difference between Ice FUE and FUE hair transplant procedures?

Ice FUE is an improved version of the FUE technique with just a small tweak. Both of these techniques are based on removing individual hair grafts from a donor area with healthy hair follicles and transplanting them to the target areas to achieve higher hair density. Both procedures can be done under local anaesthesia.

The hair grafts are extracted from the donor area by using the manual punch technique or a punch tool. The extracted hair follicles are collected in a suitable environment until the beginning of the implantation step. Frozen FUE and traditional FUE techniques differ in this exact step. In the frozen FUE technique, the extracted hair grafts are collected in medical refrigerators that keeps the extracted hair in a cold environment whereas, in the traditional FUE technique, this is not the case.

In both techniques, the hair grafts are transplanted into small incisions made at the recipient area after the extraction step. Our surgeons pay great attention to the angle and direction of the planted hair grafts to achieve the most natural results.

As the last step, your surgeon will clean the donor and target areas and place a protective covering where necessary.

Is frozen FUE surgery in Turkey safe?

In terms of safety, frozen FUE hair transplant is not different from the traditional FUE hair transplant. Both operations are considered safe procedures. Very few complications and side effects are involved with the frozen FUE hair transplant. The micro-incisions are not invasive and leave little to no scarring.

As long as your surgery is performed in a safe operating room by experienced and qualified surgeons, you will be safe. Strictly following your surgeon’s instructions is extremely important to ensure a safe recovery process and great results.
